Valle delle Cartiere

This is the final part of the Toscolano valley which can be reached taking the road to Gaino and bearing left before the road climbs the hill. For centuries this area was the site of paper mills, forges and engraving shops, and there are still many businesses here.

As the surroundings and countryside are quite beautiful, the Lombardy Region, in cooperation with local governments and Communità Montana dell'Alto Garda, has introduced a project for restoration of the buildings in the valley.
